RE: World Service Corps seeks your co-sponsorship

Dear Congressman Miller:

Like many others, I have long respected your work. Thanks for all you have done.

As a key strategist and policy director for the Democrats, I hope my explanations and support request is compelling enough to place the World Service Corps proposals near the top of your legislative agenda.

Would you co-sponsor the citizen-initiated World Service Corps proposals?

The WSC proposals need:

· Fifty bipartisan cosponsors for them to have a shot at passing in this Congress.

· Ten thousand+ active on-line Petition signers.

· Much more media exposure to educate and inspire greater public understanding and support.

Your public support would help achieve those recently established goals more quickly.

The key WSC proposal would, six years after the Bill’s passing, have one million Americans choosing service to world and country from six core organizations that included the: Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Habitat for Humanity, Head Start, Doctors Without Borders, or the Red Cross. The WSC proposals are a critically needed means to reduce the burden our soldiers must carry into 21^st century terrorist laden warfare. A robust WSC depletes the recruitment ranks from which perhaps millions of stealth terrorists are recruited. An experienced WSC increases America’s understanding of and competitiveness in the world. Strategically, these proposals exemplify more of what Progressives must do. The WSC proposals are non-partisan. They make our nation stronger, smarter, more united, respected, cost effective, and educated. They make America less hated, reliant on costly military engagements and susceptible to terrorist attacks. They offer practical solutions.

To many they represent an alternative to a potential draft. Most of America’s moms immediately gravitate to its ideas -- and to the candidate who supports them. Explain WSC proposals to a roomful of people, and 85%+ become supporters.

The WSC proposals offer solutions and the respected organizational infrastructure that voting Americans understand and support. In today’s game of poker faced, chess playing politics, WSC proposals are among the best chips on the political table, even when playing against Machiavellian opponents.

The WSC proposals are the cost effective, authentic means of transforming our military to address the 21^st century’s interlocking socio-economic needs and warfare. Your legislative history indicates you understand the linkage between strengthening the nation by “investing” in programs that save lives and taxpayer dollars. Therefore, I hope you will take the time to understand and support the WSC proposals.
