Writer Ignores Facts, Rants
Like Demagogue
It’s too bad I disagree with Dwayne Hunn, but
I want to rip off his ripoff of this country’s Vietnam policies. If Mr. Hunn had
done any research, he would have found that for the past 1,000 years South
Vietnam has not been one nation with North Vietnam. Vietnam as a “nation” (and I
use the term loosely), came into being only towards the end of World War
II.
The one reason I can think of South Vietnam
canceling the proposed elections in 1955 is because it knew that Ho Chi Minh
would win, and, being a devout Communist, immediately abolish the Nationalist
party. That would be like the Republican party outlawing the Democratic party
right here in the U.S.A. (which sometimes I think should be
done).
A lesson from history was the abolishment of
all opposition parties in Nazi Germany. If Ho Chi Minh had gotten his way, all
Indochina would now be one nation, accomplished either by force or peaceful
“Munich 1938” agreements.
If Mr. Hunn wants to criticize this
country, I will be happy to buy him a one-way ticket to any Communist country
where his criticism will be more appropriate sounding. Otherwise, I suggest he
find something constructive to say about the country he lives in. Exposing
corruption is one thing, ranting like a demagogue is
another.
Sincerely,
Steven Desens
